Kevin Dodd inactive again, says he must keep working

For the second straight week, linebacker Kevin Dodd is inactive for the Tennessee Titans.

Other inactives today for the Titans include cornerbacks Kalan Reed and Tye Smith (out with a hand injury), safety Johnathan Cyprien (out with a hamstring injury), linebackers Nate Palmer and Josh Carraway and guard Corey Levin.

Dodd, a second-round pick of the Titans in 2016, has been relegated to the bench in large part because Aaron Wallace and other linebackers offer more on special teams.

“I’m not working on any special teams (right now),” Dodd said when asked Friday about any special teams units he is on.

The second-year pro, who lost part of his rookie season to a foot injury, said he is simply trying to work hard and earn an opportunity.

“I just work every day,” Dodd said. “I just do what I’m told to do. If I’m asked to special teams I’ll do it.

“I’ve just got to keep working. Obviously, it’s not there, because I’m not on the field, so I’ve just got to keep working.”

Jaguars inactives today include running back T.J. Yeldon, guard Josh Walker, tackle Will Poehls, safety Calvin Pryor, cornerback Jalen Myrick, defensive tackle Sheldon Day and linebacker Blair Brown.
