It probably wasn’t the homecoming that Taylor Lewan imagined.
The Tennessee Titans Pro Bowl left tackle and a native of Arizona, was playing in his home state for the first time since high school, and left the game in the first half with a lower back injury.
Lewan is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of his injury.
The make matters worse, the Titans offense sputtered and was never able to find much rhythm in losing 12-7 to the host Arizona Cardinals.
Veteran Dennis Kelly filled in for Lewan for the remainder of the game.
In addition to Lewan, quarterback Marcus Mariota suffered a knee injury early in the game on a scramble and hit by Arizona’s Antoine Bethea. He remained in the game, but his play was not strong as he was intercepted twice, bringing his interception total to 14 for the season.
Additionally, tight end Phillip Supernaw sustained an ankle injury in the game.
