Titans address special teams, add ex-Raiders Trawick, Bates

The Titans signed safety Brynden Trawick to a two-year, $4.75 million deal that includes $3 million in guaranteed money. With incentives the deal could be worth as much as $6.85 million for Trawick.
Trawick, who played at Troy University, spent the first three years of his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens before going to Oakland last season.
The Titans also added ex-Raiders linebacker Daren Bates, TitanInsider has confirmed, with a three year deal worth a reported $6 million. Like Trawick, Bates is also regarded as a quality special teams performer.
Bates, who is from Memphis and played at Auburn, spent the first three years of his career with the Rams before going to the Raiders last season.
Add to that, the fact that the Titans re-signed two of of their own role players in defensive end Karl Klug and linebacker Nate Palmer, who led Tennessee with 12 special teams tackles a year ago, and it is clear that the Titans are using free agency to bolster the roster from the bottom up with an emphasis on their coverage and return units.
