The Tennessee Titans have completed their first interview in their search for a new head coach, meeting with Houston Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel.
Vrabel has only one season’s worth of experience as a coordinator, serving in that capacity for the Texans in 2017. Prior to that, he served as the team’s linebackers coach under former defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel.
Vrabel, 42, played 14 years in the NFL and is familiar to Titans general manager Jon Robinson due to Vrabel’s eight seasons spent with the New England Patriots as a player.
Vrabel initially broke into the NFL as a linebacker with the Pittsburgh Steelers and spent the final two years of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to reports, Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks and Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Matt LeFleur are expected to interview this week.
