Titans finish interview with Panthers’ Steve Wilks

The Tennessee Titans finished the second of two coaching interviews Thursday evening when they met with Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks about their coaching vacancy.

Wilks spent the past year as the Panthers defensive coordinator an prior to that served as the team’s defensive backs coach.

He is also believed to be in the running for the Arizona Cardinals head coaching job.

Wilks, a minority candidate who puts the Titans in compliance with the Rooney Rule, was the second candidate to interview Thursday to replace Mike Mularkey, who was fired on Monday. Mike Vrabel interviewed earlier on Thursday.

Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Matt LeFleur reportedly will interview for the opening on Friday.

The Titans are expected to also interview candidates from teams that are still alive in the playoffs and would have to wait until after Sunday’s conference championship games to do that.
