The Tennessee Titans activated veteran wide receiver Harry Douglas from injured reserve on Saturday and waived wide receiver Darius Jennings to make room on the 53-man roster.
Douglas’ window of evaluation was opened on Monday by the Titans as they had 21 days to determine if the 10th year pro was healthy enough to contribute this season.
Douglas was placed on injured reserve a day after the initial 53-man roster was established due to a lingering knee issue that popped up at the end of the preseason.
Douglas’ return to the active roster coincides with the hamstring injury that starting receiver Rishard Matthews suffered in Thursday’s practice for Sunday’s game at Indianapolis.
Matthews is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Colts after not practicing on Friday. He will likely be a game-time decision for Tennessee.
The activation of Douglas gives the Titans some added insurance in case Matthews is deemed not healthy enough to play at Lucas Oil Stadium.
