The Tennessee Titans have two Monday night road games this season in the state of Texas an a Thursday night game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Dec. 6.
The Titans open the regular season on Sept. 9 in Miami and play their first home game against the AFC South rival Texans the following Sunday.
Tennessee also travels to London on Oct. 21 to face the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Titans two Monday night games take place late in the season. They visit the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 5, and then are back in prime time three weeks later for their road meeting with the Texans.
As for the Thursday home prime time game, the Titans and Jaguars have become somewhat of a Thursday night staple on the schedule. However, the stakes could be much higher this year for the Dec. 6 game at Nissan Stadium as both teams reached the posteason last year.
“The first thing I look at on the schedule are those quick turnaround games, the ones you are going to have to work ahead and you are going to have to have your team ready to take on another challenging opponent,” said Titans head coach Mike Vrabel. “Guys (the players) are always looking at Thanksgiving and Christmas to see where we are because that is what the family wants to know about.
“Primetime games are important. Monday night, we will go on the road for those two games. We will get to have our fans here on a Thursday night to help us on a short week.
“Most of the guys have played in Miami and Jacksonville and all of those places where it is going to be warm in September at 12 o’clock. Just making sure that whether we started at home or on the road, that our team is well-conditioned, ready and prepared.”
The Titans will have home games on Sept. 30 vs. the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles; on Oct. 14 vs the Baltimore Ravens; on Nov. 11 against the defending AFC Champion New England Patriots, who eliminated Tennessee in the postseason last year; on Dec. 2 vs the New York Jets on Dec. 22 or 23 vs. the Washington Redskins and close the season on Dec. 30 vs. the Indianapolis Colts.
Other road games for the Titans include Sept. 23 at Jacksonville; Oct. 7 at Buffalo; Nov. 18 at Indianapolis and Dec. 16 at the New York Giants.
Tennessee’s bye week comes on Oct. 28 after the trip to London.
