Titans to interview Chris Polian for GM post

titans helmet chris-polianThe Tennessee Titans will interview Chris Polian for their vacant general manager position, a league source tells TitanInsider/Cover32.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported earlier Wednesday that the Titans had requested permission to speak with Polian. That permission has been given, according to a league source.

Polian is currently the vice president of player personnel for the Jacksonville Jaguars and was general manager of the Indianapolis Colts before being fired when owner Jim Irsay cleaned house after the 2011 season.

Polian is the son of Hall of Fame executive Bill Polian and his brother Dennis works for the Titans as assistant director of football administration.

There are a number of other candidates whom the Titans are considering, including Jon Robinson of the Buccaneers, Marc Ross of the New York Giants, Jimmy Raye III of the Colts and Titans director of college scouting Blake Beddingfield.

Also, on Wednesday, the Titans announced that they had completed an interview with former Lions general manager Martin Mayhew, who was fired by the club in midseason.
