Titans add three to executive positions

The Tennessee Titans announced the hiring of three front office executives on Thursday.
Long-time NFL executive and Nashville native Adolpho Birch was named Senior Vice President of Business Affairs.
Surf Melendez was hired as Creative Director, a new role added to the organization. Also, Dan Werly was named the team’s new General Counsel.
Birch, a Father Ryan High graduate, is the son of A.A. Birch, Jr., who was the first minority to serve as Chief Justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court. The courthouse in Nashville is named after the elder Birch.
Adolpho Birch is an attorney and spent 24 years working for the NFL before returning home to Nashville to take his new position with the Titans. Birch had most recently served as Senior Vice President of Labor Policy and League Affairs. That role covered many areas from labor negotiations to drug testing, sports betting and employee development. Birch is scheduled to join the Titans in August.
Melendez comes to the Titans from the Miami Dolphins where he spent six years in a similar role with that organization. Melendez will oversee the team’s creative direction on game day and be in charge of digital/broadcast content as well.
Werly spent one year as the General Counsel for the Nashville Soccer Club and was a managing partner for the law firm Seivert & Werly, where that firm represented a number of sports franchises.
