The Tennessee Titans have extended the contract of punter Brett Kern, giving the two-time Pro Bowl selection a reported four-year deal worth just over $12 million.
Kern, the longest tenured Titans player, was claimed off waivers from Denver in 2009 and has played for all five coaches in Titans’ portion of team history.
Last season, his second straight in making the Pro Bowl, Kern had a 41.7 yard net punting average and a 47.1 yard gross punting average. That followed up his best season in which he averaged 49.7 yards gross and 44.6 net punting average.
Kern also serves as the holder on place-kicks for Titans kicker Ryan Succop.
