Linebacker Vic Beasley, signed by the Tennessee Titans as one of their big free agent acquisitions in the off-season, was placed on the reserve/did not report list by the team Tuesday after he failed to show up for the opening of training camp.
In addition to that, wide receiver Corey Davis joins linebacker Jayon Brown on the physically unable to perform list at the start of training camp. Davis, whose fifth-year option was declined by the team in May, is on the list because he did not pass his entrance physical to begin practicing. The Titans did not disclose the nature of Davis’ injury. He has dealt with hamstring issues in the past, and A to Z Sports reported in February that Davis played a good portion of 2019 with turf toe.
Beasley has 37.5 career sacks, including leading the NFL with 15.5 sacks in 2016 with the Atlanta Falcons. No reason was given by the club for Beasley not reporting to camp on time. Beasley signed a one-year deal with Tennessee worth $9.5 million in the early stages of free agency with the idea that he would bolster the team’s pass rush.
The Titans also waived outside linebacker Jordan Williams from the roster as well as moves made earlier in the day with first-round pick Isaiah Wilson going on the Covid-19 reserve list and undrafted rookie tackle Anthony McKinney opting out of the 2020 season.
