The Titans released six players from the roster in an effort to get down to the new 80-player limit for training camp.
Of those waived, defensive lineman Amani Bledsoe and linebacker Nigel Harris had the most experience with the team. Bledsoe, an undrafted rookie in 2019 from Oklahoma, spent all of last season on the Titans’ practice squad.
Harris, a special teams player and backup linebacker, spent parts of 2018 and 2019 on both the Titans practice squad and active roster.
In addition to those two, the Titans waived tight end Cole Herdman and receiver Trevion Thompson and waived/injured running back Shaun Wilson with a non-football injury.
The Titans also released veteran guard Zac Kerin, who was signed earlier this off-season, by terminating his contract.
All players released except Kerin now will go on waivers where they can be claimed by other clubs. If they are not claimed, they will become free agents. Kerin becomes a free agent as a vested veteran and can negotiate with other clubs immediately.
The Titans roster now stands at 81, one over the limit as training camp officially opens on Tuesday.
