The Tennessee Titans signed veteran Kenny Vaccaro and added a second safety in Jason Thompson on Saturday morning.
Vaccaro, a former first-round pick of the New Orleans Saints, worked out for the Titans on Friday, along with a number of other safeties, including Lardarius Webb and Mike Mitchell. Eric Reid was supposed to be in that group, but his flight was cancelled on Friday due to bad weather, and when the Titans signed Vaccaro, Reid’s workout was cancelled as well.
Vaccaro has eight career interceptions in 67 games.
Thompson, an undrafted free agent from 2017, has spent time in camps and on the practice squads with New England, Seattle, Chicago and Dallas.
The Titans lost starting safety Johnathan Cyprien for the season when he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in Wednesday’s practice. Backup safety Kendrick Lewis also suffered an arm injury the same day and has not practiced since suffering that injury.
