Titans waive LB Aaron Wallace, promote RB Dalyn Dawkins

The Tennessee Titans waived outside linebacker Aaron Wallace on Tuesday to make room for running back Dalyn Dawkins, who was promoted from the team’s practice squad.
Wallace, a seventh-round pick of the Titans in 2016, was inactive for Sunday’s victory over Houston.
The activation of Dawkins from the practice squad probably means that the Titans will be without running back David Fluellen this Sunday in Jacksonville after he sustained a groin injury on a special teams play in the first half.
The Titans are also, as reported by TitanInsider on Monday, expected to use the open roster spot from Monday’s waiving of receiver Cameron Batson and tight end Anthony Firkser to add cornerback Kenneth Durden back to the 53-man roster.
Wallace was a key special teams performer as a rookie for Tennessee, but missed most of the 2017 season with a back injury. He was back this season and appeared in the Titans’ season opening loss against Miami playing quite a bit with Derrick Morgan limited due to a knee injury and Harold Landry out with an ankle injury.
Wallace was inactive last week with Morgan able to play closer to a full-time role, and Landry and Komalai Correa seeing action as the team’s top outside reserves.
Dawkins is an undrafted rookie running back from Colorado State, who was in training camp with the Titans. He was signed to the practice squad after being let go in final cuts. He is the nephew of Hall of Fame safety Brian Dawkins.
